We Need You!
DHHS Band Boosters volunteers work together to help fund and facilitate every ensemble in Dixie Heights Bands. Our students would have no instrumental music activities without the efforts of our volunteers.
If you’re thinking about helping our bands for the first time, here are several ongoing volunteer opportunities. This list isn’t comprehensive, but it might help you figure out where to begin.
- Concessions (our biggest moneymaker!)
- Props and logistics (no skills required)
- Marching Band uniforms
- Marching Band food service (camps & competitions)
- Fundraisers (craft fair, fish fry, spirit wear, restaurant nights & more)
- Annual Band family events (holiday dinner, Spring banquet)
- Tabling at Band concerts

Background check (required)
Kenton County Schools must have a current criminal record check prior to allowing an adult volunteer to participate in activities attended by our students. The application form, volunteer handbook and other important details are on the KCSD website.
The approval process usually takes one to four weeks. If approved, you will get notified in an email from Pretrial Services in Frankfort. Volunteers are approved for up to three years.
